Tuition Fees
All tuition fees and other charges are due and payable as per Alberta Advanced Education rules and regulations. The College would help the students applying for student aid from the Government of Alberta and Government of Canada in the application process.
Students who are self-funded will pay either by credit card, debit card or cheque payable to City College of Management. No cash transactions are permitted in the College premise.
If you have any questions regarding finances College Student Financial Aid Officer and Career Counsellor will be happy to answer them.
Please note: transcripts, certificates, and diplomas will not be forwarded until all fees are paid in full.
Refund of Tuition Fees
If a student contract is terminated after the class begins, the College is entitled to the following amounts of tuition:
- When 10% or less of the class has been provided, 25% of the tuition fees.
- When more than 10% but 50% or less of the class has been provided, 60% of the tuition fees.
- When more than 50% of the class has been provided, 100% of the tuition fees.
Academic Grade Appeal
It is extremely important that the integrity and accuracy of City College of Management’s learner outcomes be maintained at the highest level possible. To ensure this, the college employs faculty whose professional training prepares them to make fair judgments regarding student’s performance. The College also provides a grade appeal process that offers students a reasonable opportunity to appeal results of particular academic assessments.
Grade Appeals Committee
Students dismissed from City College of Management would have the option to appeal the decision. A letter of appeal may be forwarded to the College management for review. Upon careful review of the situation a decision will be taken and rendered to the student. That decision may include: refusal of readmission, unconditional readmission or conditional readmission/academic probation.
Complaint Resolution Process
Students with concerns should make all reasonable attempts to resolve their concerns directly with the instructor or other member of the College staff. If the issue is unresolved, students should forward their concern in writing to College Director .
City College of Management would make every effort possible to resolve the issue in a timely manner. This process may involve utilizing the services of internal or external persons (such as a counsellor).
In the event that the complaint involves an instructor or a staff member, students should make all reasonable attempts to resolve the issue with that person informally. If the concern is unresolved students should contact City College of Management in writing. This will initiate a process similar to that outlined above.

Withdrawals
As a recognized private college regulated by the Private Vocational Training Act, 2000, City College of Management will withdraw students and offer an appropriate refund on tuition as outlined in this act.
If you wish to withdraw from the program and terminate the contract, you must fill out the Student Withdrawal Form and submit/email to the College in a way that you can verify the date the notice was delivered to the College.
Before City College accepts this Withdrawal Form, students must have an in-depth meeting with their program’s education advisor/Director in order to discuss the reasons for their withdrawal and attempt to find acceptable accommodations, including potentially moving the student to a different cohort to accommodate personal, family or financial issues.
The contract is considered terminated on the date that the written notice is received by the College. You should be aware that the College may also terminate your enrolment in the program by providing written notice/email to you. The contract is considered terminated on the date that the written notice is received by you.
If you are receiving student financial assistance, you will notify your funding source of your withdrawal or the termination of this contract. You must review the relevant Regulation, and understand the Regulation with respect to the retention and repayment of fees (i.e. tuition fees refunds) in the case where this contract is terminated. You understand that if you terminate this contract on or before the 4th business day after signing this contract, the College must refund any tuition or other fee paid by you or on your behalf.
Dismissal
A student may be dismissed from City College of Management if one or more of the following situations arise:
- A student breaches City College of Management’s Academic Dishonesty Policy.
- A student has been placed on academic probation and has not met City College of Management’s academic standards in two successive module/courses.
- A student demonstrates other inappropriate conduct including, but not limited to, willful disruption of class, discrimination, sexual harassment, abusive or threatening language or gestures, injury to persons, damage to property, theft, the use or distribution of illegal drugs, and/or the consumption or distribution of alcohol.
- A student discontinues attending classes, fails to provide proper notice and fails to adhere to his/her defined tuition payment schedule the College may dismiss that student once his/her account becomes delinquent.
- A student fails to adhere to City College of Management’s tuition payment policy These policies apply on campus and during all City College of Management activities off-campus.
Admission Policy
Students applying for admission into City College of Management must meet the following requirements:
- 1- High School Students
- A High-School student must meet ONE of the below requirements to be considered for admission.
- 1. Alberta High-School Diploma, verified by transcript.
- 2. A non-Alberta equivalent, verified by transcript.
- 3. General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.), verified by transcript.
- 2- Mature Students
- A mature student is any applicant who is over 18 years old and does not hold a high school diploma. Even without a high school, mature students will have the opportunity to apply for admission to the Diploma program.
- A mature student must meet ALL of the following requirements to be considered into the program:
- A. Applicants must be 18 years of age (for residents of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario) or 19 years of age (for residents of Manitoba and British Columbia) when they submit their application.
- B. Applicants must successfully pass the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Test with a 28 score out of 50
- C. Applicants must demonstrate English Proficiency by either:
- CLB level 6 minimum
- Successful completion of English 30-1 and Math 30-1 through transcripts
- A score of 5 on the International English Language Test (IELTS)
- A score of at least 32 on the Test of English Language Fluency (TOEFL)
- A score of at least 40 on the Pearson Academic (PTE-A)
- A score of at least 35 on the CAEL
- A score of at least 35 on the TOEFL iBT
- A score of at least 95-100 on the Duolingo
- D. Applicants who are landed immigrants or Canadian citizens and completed prior education outside of Canada must provide transcripts verified by International Qualifications Assessment Service(IQAS) or World Education Services(WES) to minimum meet high school diploma comparative level of academic achievement in Canada and are not required to complete an English Language Assessment exam set out in C.
- E. Demonstrate basic computer operational level knowledge.
- F. Applicants must successfully complete an interview with the Program Lead Admission Advisor, which will determine a potential student’s personal suitability to the program goals and outcomes.
- Active participation in the classroom (lecture, class presentation, discussion).
- Writing class assignments and tests, and Understand and participate effectively at practicum sites.
Attendance
Employers as well as the College authority expect punctuality and regularity from the students. Daily attendance records are kept on file and shared with funding agencies and Student Aid upon request.
Please note that the government has the right to revoke financial assistance based on poor attendance and/or academic performance.The following attendance policies apply to all City College of Management students:
- Students are expected to attend all online classes, labs, trips, etc., in which they are registered.
- Evaluation in any course is cumulative and based on class assignments, participation, and examinations. Your instructor will inform you about course evaluation schemes.
- Excused absences will be granted by the instructor for illness when accompanied by a doctor’s note stating the number of days approved for sickness. As well, excused absences are granted for bereavement, family illness, and other causes as approved by the instructor.
- Students must inform the Instructor/College before the start of class in case of failure to attend. All required documentation (doctors’ notes, etc.) must be presented to the instructor immediately upon returning to class.
- Where a student misses a period of time through illness, he or she is still considered enrolled at City College of Management and will be charged accordingly if the period has not been granted leave of absence.
- Lateness and leaving class early will be treated in the same manner as unexcused absences. It is the student’s responsibility to catch up on any work missed because of absences.
- Excessive absenteeism, in most cases, results in a student’s inability to maintain academic standards as set by City College of Management
- City College of Management adheres to Alberta PCC (Private Career Colleges) act — which means it is required for us to remove students who have not attended classes for 5 days or more
