Courses
Effective Business Communication

This course teaches students the essential skills for basic business writing and professional interaction. This course also emphasizes the role technology to write business messages-letters, emails and memos to enhance communication.

Microsoft Office Applications

This course will prepare students to perform functions common to all Microsoft Windows applications. Elements include the ability to create and manipulate Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook applications, modify the display of toolbars and other on-screen elements, use online help, and perform file management, editing, formatting and printing functions common to most Windows applications.

Accounting Fundamentals

This course introduces journalizing, posting to the ledgers, completing a trial balance, adjusting and closing entries and preparing financial statements. The complete accounting cycle for a service business will be studied.

Financial Accounting

This course introduces Financial Accounting Principles using GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), Concepts and Business Decisions for such Accounting for CashBanking Procedures and Control of Cash, Bank Reconciliation, Establishing and Replenishing Petty Cash, Accounting for Receivables, Statement of Cash Flows and Financial Statement Analysis, Merchandise Inventory, Accounting for Partnership, Corporation and Stocks, Dividends, Retained Earnings, PPE (Property, Plant and Equipment & Intangible Assets)

Payroll Compliance Legislation

This course introduces Payroll and Its Compliance Environment, Federal Legislation, CPP & EI Requirements, Income Tax, Labour StandardsEmployment Standards, Unionized Workplaces, Provincial and Territorial Legislation.

Payroll Basics

This course prepares students to Calculate regular individual pay, Calculate non-regular individual pay, Calculate termination payments, Complete a Record of Employment (ROE), Communicate all aspects of individual pay requirements to various stakeholders.

Payroll Reporting

This course prepares students to Calculate organizational remittances to federal, provincial and third party stakeholders, Prepare accounting documentation for payroll, Complete year end documentation, Communicate all aspects of organizational remittances, accounting and year end requirements to internal, external and government stakeholders.

Introduction to Canadian Taxation

Introduction to Canadian Tax Systems, Tax Payer’s Responsibilities as per CRA guidlines, Introduction to Personal and Business Income and Deductions, Capital Gains and Calculations, Computation of Taxable Income and Business income, Filing Taxes and Benefit Returns using Profile Tax Software.

The focus of this course is on the importance of aligning human resources practices,
Responsibilities of HRM, Employee Selecting, Hiring, Training, Rewards, Motivation, Payroll Management.

QuickBook Desktop & Online

QuickBook Desktop

QuickBooks is an integrated accounting package for small- to medium-sized businesses. This course covers Setting up company files, Working with lists, Working with bank accounts, Creating invoices and sales receipts ,Receiving payments, Making deposits, Entering and paying bills, Running Payroll, Tracking and paying GST, Remitting withholding to CRA.

QuickBook Online

This course teaches students to convert clients from QuickBooks desktop and competitor products to QuickBooks Online. Navigating in QuickBooks Online, Entering common sales transactions, Entering and paying bills, Setup payroll basics, Setup employee information to run payroll efficiently Setup basic payroll items for wages includes salary, hourly and commissions, Create pay items like deductions for health care and RSPs and the company portions, Create paycheques, Track and pay payroll liabilities, Create T4’s and, Records of Employment information. 

Sage-50 & Introduction to Sage One Cloud Accounting

This course prepares students using the general ledger, Accounts receivable, Accounts payable, Inventory, Bank reconciliations, Payroll, Reporting.

Keyboarding

In this course, students will understand how to use a keyboard properly, and develop greater keyboarding speed and accuracy.
